Just a note: It doesn't have to be the backup-server! It could be any host. E. g. if you have a department connected through by a small bandwith, it should be a host inside the remote network where the Windows machine is. Then this host is gathering the data from the Windows machine and can compress and send the data to your backupserver. This saves much time.
