star with AMANDA

Hi all :-) Has anyone used star (Schily tar) with the community  
version of AMANDA? I know its available for use with the zmanda  
enterprise version, but can't find any documentation about its use  
with community version. Is this a feature that is intended to be  
merged at any point?
