Wayne -- We changed the way manpages are built in version 2.5.2 for just this reason -- by default, we *don't* build manpages now. IIRC, though, in 2.5.1 the built manpages were shipped with the tarball, so it may help to simply touch all of the finished manpages so that the Makefile isn't tempted to rebuild them.
