Yes ...

You are right, but I have specific needs here.

This will be a very dynamic environment, with VMs created, copied,
moved, and it isn't possible to install amanda to each new or copied VM
(and track the IPs and hostnames and stuff ....)

So I think of something like

- find every vmx below /mnt/vmware
- create a new DLE for each corresponding directory, if it doesn't
already exist
- amanda-wrapper stops, dumps and restarts every of these DLEs
