But I get this on make:
WARNINGS:
/bin/amgtar is not GNU tar, so it will not be used.

Would you please answer to my questions follow whether if they are
possible or not?

1) What did I do wrong?
2) Does this error occure on older amanda 2.5.2p2?

1. You noticed that the configure/make process checks
   for a valid gtar binary.
2. Yes

the (temporary) solution:
set up a link /sbin/amgtar which points to /bin/tar
(or wherever your tar binary is located).

After the make process is done successfully you can
change the link into a file which does what you write it for.
