OK, stan, can you try applying this patch: http://github.com/djmitche/amanda/commit/958280d5ba03e94595ceeb02dfe0b67a3055d3df.patch and sending back the taper logfile?
My best guess at the moment is that the RAIT device is running in "degraded" mode for some reason, but it shouldn't be. Hopefully this will help me figure out what's up.
