It's a kernel module, but I don't know much more than that. I think it needs to be modprobe'd into the kernel, and then activated with the appropriate iptables incantation. I would recommend using the 'bsdtcp' authentication method instead, although since RH5.2 was released in 1998, I expect it has Amanda-2.3.something installed, which certainly doesn't support bsdtcp auth.
