I just noticed that Amanda's README file is a bit out of date, since github displays the README on the project's main page (http://github.com/zmanda/amanda/). The file lists some less-than-modern features, such as being able to schedule during single-user mode on time-sharing systems, and in general doesn't give new users much idea of what to expect from Amanda or where to look for a quick-start or guided tour.
I'm better with code than with user-oriented writing, so this isn't something I feel well-qualified for. Does anyone else want to jump in? In general, I think there's a lot of low-hanging fruit in terms of documentation aimed at people new to Amanda. Dustin -- Open Source Storage Engineer http://www.zmanda.com
