Hi there,
I'm running a Solaris 10 system with amanda 2.6.1p1 and after
a number of modifications to my zfs file system to get manageable
DLEs I was running great, about 1.7 TBytes to SL24/LTO4 library.
About 2 weeks ago things started to go to pot, I wasn't getting
a lot of data to tape. I seem to have reasonable write rates for
the tape device, but I'm only getting a couple of DLEs to the
tape, though the size of the DLEs have not changed, I have not
altered the tape pool, there are no HW changes.
I'm seeing a couple of errors in /var/adm/messages that look like
this - but only a couple.

Too many taper retried is the amanda error - not sure where to find
something in the logs to support that.
Tried a cleaning tape, even though the indicator light wasn't on.
Will try to replace the scsi cable, having trouble finding one with
a head that will fit against the other cable in the same card (very
narrow space).
Strongly suspect HW issue, but not sure where to point the finger
since I don't have anything significant in the logs.
