vtapes size themselves to precisely LENGTH bytes, whereas tape
capacity can vary based on tape stretch, error rate, compression rate,
etc.  Given that your numbers are all within half a factor of 2 of
50%, I would guess that compression is on on your drive, but you've
put the uncompressed length in your tapetype.  This is fine, but I
would suggest setting the tapetype parameter to something around
180GB, so that Amanda doesn't expect to put much more than that on a
tape.  Or turn off compression.
