I have to admit I'm a bit baffled.
I'm runing an amanda server on Solaris 10x86, it was a 3.1.2
version but I upgraded to 3.2.0.
The clients that are giving me problems are either the FW we
are trying to back up, or the machines in the DMZ on the other
side of the FW.
The clients ar a mix of older amanda versions but are all on
Solaris boxes. The clients had been backing up well.
About the time of the 3.2.0 upgrade the clients failed.
The clients all Succeed with # amcheck.
The clients continue to Succeed with # amdump's estimate phase.
The clients all Fail # amdump dump phase.
Looked like a FW issue to me, but the amanda rules are still
in place.
Further, near wits end I ran # snoop on both the client and
the server and then ran # amdump. It looks to me like the
messages sent by one are recieved by the other. I am NOT seeing
where messaging is being blocked.
I'm happy to include the two snoop output files.
I tried downgrading the server to 3.1.2, this did not seem
to have any effect.
I then made certain I used # gmake uninstall on the server,
running it for both 3.1.2 and 3.2.0.
I disabled and enabled the amanda services in SMF...
I don't know why we are failing the connection between client
and server. Snoop makes me think the communications are succeeding
but amdump clearly reports that they are not.
I am going to remove output from non-problem systems from the
included amdump report.
I am happy to provide log files, just wanted to be a little
selective about it.
I suspect the sendbackup would be of greatest interest ?
