In case anyone is interested. I haven't looked at this. It was just developed and posted. But, I thought someone among Amanda users might be using mon and might be interested in a monitor module for Amanda.

The mailing list exchange is truncated here, but you can see the whole exchange if you are interested, from your choice of archives from https://mon.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Mailing_List.

 An AMANDA Backup monitor.

Has anyone seen such an animal?

I'm not sure why you would need it or what it would do.

amindexd.monitor

Connects to the backup servers in the hostgroup and checks that the specified
backup set is on it.

if a backup server is specified it assumes that the hostgroup contains a
client list and checks that they are on the backup schedule.
