I am getting ready to install amanda-3.2.3 and want to start using the
part_size tape splitting to get better tape usage.

Question1: is device_property = device-property and part_size = part-size i.e. is "_" and
"-" interchangeable in the amanda.conf parameter names?
man amanda.conf
  KEYWORDS AND IDENTIFIERS
Keywords are case insensitive, i.e. mailto and MailTo are
treated the same. Also, the characters ´-´ and ´_´ are
interchangeable in all predefined Amanda keywords:
device_property and device-property have the same meaning. This
manpage uses the dashed versions, but the underscored versions
will be accepted for backward compatibility

Question2: below is a snippet of my amanda.conf file with the LEOM and
part_size. Is this correct. I use a holding disk for everything so I assume I
donot need to define any part_cache settings?
part_cache is required only for dump direct to tape, it is not needed for a device with LEOM or if a holding disk is used.
