I assume you put to old tape to trash and ran 'amlabel -f' with the same
label to a new tape? Have you done something else?
Amanda told you that it can't use the tape loaded in the changer, nobody
can tell you why without more informations. Your best option is to check
what is loaded:
$ amcheck CONF
$ amtape CONF show
$ amtape CONF taper
