we are using amanda for ~15 years now and I want to express my thanks to
those who keep enhancing it.
At the moment I am looking at the new (for me) application-tool
configuration option because I need to ignore device numbers with tar.
We use inheritance for the dumptypes and there is one very old client, a
redhat 6.2 server. I cannot update amanda there easily, so the amanda
client does not support application-tool. So I configure
define dumptype global {
...
program "APPLICATION"
application "app-amgtar"
...
}
and
define dumptype veryOldClient {
program "GNUTAR"
}
amcheck tells me this:
"/etc/amanda/DailySet1/disklist", line 12: Both program and application set
How can I "unset" the "application" parameter from the inherited dumptype?
