Matt,

Doesn't do much as in, don't collect much data, doesn't seem
to use any time, doesn't progress at all ?

Sorry it's taken me a bit to get back - I do not get an error - basically says that it runs both amdump and amflush. I've saved copies of both but I thought I originally put the amflush in the original email. Let me know if you need either or both. If I sign onto the server, run sudo to get to the user amandabackup then run amdump in the background, works exactly like it should, including full vs. incremental backups. Did you need more info? Thanks for all the attention! Matt On Thu, 17 Nov 2011 10:27:33 -0500, Brian Cuttler wrote:

Why
everybody try to find a workaround, --no-taper is designed exactly for what Matt want. We should try to find why it doesn't works for Matt. Matt, post more informations. Did it work if you run it from command line? Is it amanda or cron that doesn't work?
I tried something
like that recently, I think the issue was
that the --no-tape tripped
degraded mode and I didn't have
enough space reserved (or freed up, I
don't recall if that
parameter is inverse of what I assume).

I'm trying to run the dump during the
