Greetings:

I've got 46 entries in my disklist file. All but four are UNIX or Linux. These last four are Windows 2003 and 2008 Server.

My issue, if it is one, is that when the backup kicks off, the UNIX and Linux servers return their estimates within five minutes for most of them, ten for some of the larger ones. But, the Windows servers are horribly slow, taking 20 to 30 minutes just to return the estimate. The 2003 servers are slowest, taking 20 to 30 minutes to return estimates of 6g, 8g, and 13g. The 2008 server takes about 15 minutes to return an estimate of 24g. These are some of the smallest estimates to be returned.

So, is this normal, that Windows servers take so much longer than the UNIX and Linux servers to return their estimates?

Is there something that remains to be tweaked for these?

I'm using 3.3.0 on all of the UNIX and Linux servers, this includes the Amanda server. The Windows servers are using the ZWC-Community 3.1.3 binaries. Maybe that's the issue?

Thanks!

Neil
