Hello,

Need advice regarding capacity planning for this site.

  The specifics:

Approximately 300Tbytes of disk storage scheduled for backup.
Future backup to include an additional petabyte of data.
Filesystems range in size of 8Tb to 17Tbytes.

     Hardware:

Dell R610 with 2 quad processors and 48Gbytes of memory.
Size of the amanda dump area is 2.0Tbytes.
        OS is CentOS 5.7.
        Amanda is version 3.3.0

Tape is a SUN SL500 with 3 LT05 drives connected to the
        R610 via two 2 port/each 8Gbyte fiber cards.

        Network is GigE.

     Question:

       Are the numbers below realistic?

Running the 3 tapes constantly will backup the 300Tbytes
       in approximately 1 month.

Anyone have any experience with capacity planning for
       a site of this size?

       Thanks in advance.
