( Note: I wrote this a few hours ago, and then got a call from a vendor hardware support tech and was on the phone for the last 3 or more hours. Came back to find it sitting here unsent. :-( )

Should work. But, check your amanda.conf and see what the value of "usetimestamps" is. It should be "yes" if you want to do this.

I believe that the dumcycle will be seen as 7 runs of amdump in any case. So, if you run it twice in a day, your dumpcycle will end up being shortened by one day (if you think in days), meaning that you will end up getting full backups of all DLEs within that shortened period (though still 7 runs of amdump). I haven't actually tested that myself.

I have a question:

I run everyday at morning a daily backup. All works very well.

My doubt is:

What happen if I have to make some critical changes in my server and want to do
a second backup in a day, before made this changes ?

Can I run a second (or third) dump the same day and the next day all continues
working well as before ?

Thanks again.
