you just quoted the warnings, but not the real error.

Could you double check if there are any lines above the quote which look
more "dangerous"?

There should be a compiler message with "error" or failure in it. Maybe
Fedora 17 ships with a version of gcc which is more "picky" than the
previous ones. [or have configured it to be so.]
