I only do HW compression. I tried the software compression once before and
it was excruciating slow. I have a newer tape server with many more cores
so maybe I should give SW compression another try.The big question is how
much better is the SW compression than the HW compression? What do I gain.

Well any way the range that Toomas gave is about the range that I have
been seeing so maybe things are working OK.
