Hello Jean-Louis,

using traditional taperscan I get the following message in the taper.*.debug file:

   Wed Mar 26 08:33:32 2014: thd-0x6efa00: taper: warning: Inconsistent
   volume labels/datestamps: Got (null)/(null) on null: against
   {D00312,D00312}/20140122220322 on tape:/dev/L700/OPELHAUS-LW-3.
   Wed Mar 26 08:33:32 2014: thd-0x6efa00: taper: Device
   rait:{null:,tape:/dev/L700/OPELHAUS-LW-3} error = 'Inconsistent

   {D00312,D00312}/20140122220322 on tape:/dev/L700/OPELHAUS-LW-3.'

Config is:

   ...
   define changer null {
        tpchanger "chg-null:"
   }

   labelstr "^\\{D0[0-9]*,D0[0-9]*\\}$"
   tpchanger "chg-rait:{null,OPELHAUS-CHANGER}"
   ....

Dennis

Use a taperscan that doesn't require the changer to have the inventory functionality.
Only the 'traditional' taperscan doesn't require inventory.

If I remember, the 'ERROR' device works only when reading tape, not for writing.

Hello,

at the weekend I was facing the problem, that one of our robot had a problem with its grappler (arm). Because of this amanda refused writing to the mirror. I saw something with tapedev definition where you can set one half to ERROR, also I did try to use "null:" in changer definition but the last thing failed because amanda moaned about "null:" has no function "inventory".

My Question is now: What do I have to do to get amanda writing to one half of it?

Dennis
