Thank you all for your help.

I've decided to follow Jens' approach and have added the directories to my tar 
exclude list. Now sendbackup doesn't complain about the new tar warnings 
anymore.

We don't use amgtar and I don't know if it would be worth the effort to switch 
from tar to amgtar.
