I have a 15 day expiry rule and the folder is empty, but MajorDomo says I
am subscribed

Where do I find the docs to setup an amanda-client.conf on one of my
machines with a fresh install of late wheezy (debian 7.8) on it?

The deb I installed was for wheezy, version 3.3.7-1 amanda-client.deb
from the amanda site earlier this afternoon.

I now have an "su amanda -c /usr/local/sbin/amcheck Daily" returning no
errors.

But I've never needed to do an amrecover, so all it does is hang forever
when I fire that up on either client. Or do I have to do it from the
server?

That seems to work, but lpwd does not report the machine name that will
be restored when I enter extract. How do I verify this?

Better yet, a step by step to recover one directory
in /lathe.coyote.den/home/gene (add linuxcnc) from this machine which is
coyote.coyote.den would be ideal. I need the latest version of every
file that was in that subdir at 2AM this morning when amanda last ran
and backed it up.

I am studying the manpage for amrecover, but when I look at the directory
I am about to overwrite, I am looking at that same directory on this
server machine. And that is totally different from the machine I need
to recover.

Thanks.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
