Amanda has done a total fail, 2 days in a row. After I kill all the hung processes, amcheck reports 0 problems.
2 days ago at about this time of the morning I added a line to roots cronrab: 06 13 * * * swapoff -a; swapon -a Just to clean things up. This machine only has 8Gb of ram, and is typically 200 megs into swap in 24 hours. Its an old quad core phenom running at 2.1 GHz. I am going to remove that line, and reboot now which will assure that amanda should run when next scheduled. If it doesn't, I obviously have a bigger problem... But can anyone explain what is wrong with that idea? Short of a new board that can carry 32Gigs of dram...
