Hi,

I'm trying to get Amanda to work on a Raspberry Pi with a SD card writer 'tape changer' as the backup medium.

As I develop this to ultimately be operated by non-Admin users, I want to avoid a 'file:' (vtapes) based solution as that would require to mount/create a filesystem etc first. I'd therefore like to write to the raw SD writer device /dev/sdX

I found little documentation on how to do that with SD cards. 'tape' type does not work and I want to avoid 'file' type, so could anyone point me to a config to work with that, please ?

I have seen a type 'diskflat' being mentioned and tried tpchanger "chg-single:diskflat:/dev/sdd" Unfortunately I'm still on Amanda 3.3.6 because that seems to be the latest available package, but it does not seem to know the 'diskflat' type, so that try failed. To build Amanda 3.4.3 from source is not really an option because as mentioned I need this to work for users to use standard packages as well.

So: Does anyone know if there are ARM packages (Raspian repositories, preferrably) of current Amanda versions available ?
At least current enough to support diskflat ?

thanks
Markus
