Debian stable, amanda v3.3.6-4, Quantum DLT VS160 I do backups at night Mon, Wed, and Fri for 3 clients: gobook, sbox, and srv. sbox is the amanda server.
Wednesday morning, the backup report was fine. This morning, the backup worked everywhere but on the server (server did fine, but got no data from itself): FAILURE DUMP SUMMARY: planner: ERROR Request to sbox.slsware.net failed: timeout waiting for ACK sbox.slsware.net / lev 0 FAILED [Request to sbox.slsware.net failed: timeout waiting for ACK] sbox.slsware.net /opt lev 0 FAILED [Request to sbox.slsware.net failed: timeout waiting for ACK] inet is running. I can telnet to port 10080 on the server from other hosts, and from the server to the clients -- in both directions, the same thing happens. (Nothing for a while, then a disconnect.) The inet config for the client on the server is what is supposed to be there, according to what I read on the 'Net. amcheck says the 2 clients are OK, but connecting to the client software on the server times out: Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check -------------------------------- WARNING: sbox.slsware.net: selfcheck request failed: timeout waiting for ACK Client check: 3 hosts checked in 30.030 seconds. 1 problem found. I've rebooted. amcheck says the client on the server is bent, but not why or what to do about it. I've been running amanda for about 2 decades now, and I've never seen this failure before. Anybody got any ideas? -- Glenn English
