Hello all:

I'm running Amanda 3.4.5 server on Centos, and backing up linux clients.

My tapechanger stanza in Amanda.conf reads:
tpchanger "chg-disk:/Amanda/vtapes"
property "num-slot" "30"
property "auto-create-slot" "yes"
labelstr "NBdata[0-9][0-9]"
autolabel "NBdata%%" EMPTY VOLUME_ERROR
tapecycle 30
dumpcycle 14
amrecover_changer "changer"

When I first started doing amdumps, I didn't manually create any slot
directories because I thought the "auto-create-slot" entry would do this for me.
But Amanda seemed to have a problem and would not create slot directories.
So I manually created 32 slots, and Amanda is happy to create tapes under them.

But as I do manual amdumps to learn a bit about how things work, Amanda seems
to use a new slot for each invocation.
At this rate, I'll run out of pre-allocated slots before I get two dumpcycle's
worth of backups done.
Maybe when Amanda gets to slot 32, it will start over making a new tape under
slot 0, and things will be fine.
But any advice here is appreciated.

Thanks....Lyle
