The relevant portion of the script now looks like: cp -rp /etc/amandahosts /etc/amandahosts~ echo localhost amandabackup amdump >> /etc/amandahosts chown ${amUser}:${amGroup} /etc/amandahosts chmod 600 /etc/amandahosts # Link them.... ln -s /etc/amandahosts /home/amandahosts/.amandahosts With that, I seem to have gotten a decent backup.
