personally I don't mess with that createvtapes.sh script.

In your case it might help:

cd /var/lib/amanda/vtapes

for slot in `seq 1 35`; do mkdir slot$slot; done

for i in 35; do amlabel MyConfig MyData$i slot $i; done

amcheck MyConfig

// and show the inventory with

amtape MyConfig inventory
