Greetings all;
I'm using ff's webmail to post this as I lost my main drive, shot itself right
between the

eyes sometime in the night a week ago. And a bullseye install that begins to
work
has now taken 7 damned installs, which, because I'm now booting from a 500G
SSD, with
a 1.9T /home made of 4 1T SSD's that take hours to format, making an expert
install
take around 24 hours to the first reboot.

Since I don't yet have the new kmail5 working, I am crippled for email so please
bear with me as I try to recover, starting with bare metal.

I unpacked /home/amanda, and I am trying to build and install it, but several
minutes
into the build, I get an error exit:

/usr/bin/ld:
./.libs/libtestutils.a(testutils.o):/home/amanda/amanda-3.5.1/common-src/testutils.h:78:
 multiple definition of `tu_debugging_enabled';
amflock-test.o:/home/amanda/amanda-3.5.1/common-src/testutils.h:78: first
defined here
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [Makefile:2333: amflock-test] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory '/home/amanda/amanda-3.5.1/common-src'
make[2]: *** [Makefile:2133: all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/amanda/amanda-3.5.1/common-src'
make[1]: *** [Makefile:1718: all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/amanda/amanda-3.5.1'
make: *** [Makefile:1642: all] Error 2

Can anyone tell me what I need to install, or do to fix this?
A patch I'm missing perhaps?

Thank you all.
