I finally found the cause of my holding disk troubles. My holdingdisk was set to "/dumps/" instead of "/dumps" . Running amflush loaded the next tape and then just exited. I found this in the log "build_diskspace: holding disk file '/dumps/20220514030002/localhost.storage.1' is not in a holding disk directory." which finally clued me in.
