Hi, The documentation from zmanda follow decisions and options for their packages that is diferent for what is done by the distributions. The first option is to choose the packages from zmanda or what is distributed with the Linux distributions.
If you are using Debian or Ubuntu and want to use their packages maybe is easier to start over. Undo your changes and start again with: apt-get install amanda-server amanda-client Read the file: /usr/share/doc/amanda-server/README.Debian.gz And follow the examples in /usr/share/doc/amanda-server/examples/quick/ Please post any doubts you have with the documentation inside the packages so I can improve on next upload to Debian. Take notice that I prefer authentication by SSH and that is what I promote.
