For KDE neon we're about to move to a new Ubuntu LTS base which seems to have mariadb 10.3 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.3 So this should work for us but I don't think the current Amarok master builds against mariadb so I've not been able to compile it to test.
