You would have to choose, you can only do one, not both.

If you would like to upgrade to 2.3.2, since you are a Debian user,
you might find this helpful:
http://www200.pair.com/mecham/spam/upgrade-amavis.html

Maia Mailgard replaces the main amavisd-new program.
If you choose Maia Mailguard:
A few pointers. To install Maia, carefully follow the instructions
on the Maia Mailgard site. Maia is a patch to the amavisd Perl program
and you MUST patch a copy of 20030616-p10 you download from ijs.si.
You cannot patch the Debian version (amavisd-new).
Make backup copies of /usr/sbin/amavisd-new and
/etc/amavis/amavisd.conf in case you change your mind later.
Once you patch amavisd, rename it to amavisd-new and then copy it to
/usr/sbin. Read and understand the instructions before you begin. If you
have questions, join the Maia users mailing list.

You would also have to create a symbolic link from /etc/amavisd.conf to
/etc/amavis/amavisd.conf or Maia will not start:
ln -s /etc/amavis/amavisd.conf /etc/amavisd.conf

Nearly all the directories in the instructions will differ from where
your programs are installed, for example, the instructions may show:

/usr/local/sbin/amavisd for the program name
but Debian uses
/usr/sbin/amavisd-new for the program name

The example may show
/var/amavisd is the amavis directory
but Debian uses
/var/lib/amavis

The example may show
/etc/amavisd.conf
but Debian uses
/etc/amavis/amavisd.conf
and so on, and so on.

Once you install Maia, you will have to place the amavisd-new package
on hold, so it will not replace Maia with amavisd-new when you
upgrade packages:

echo "amavisd-new hold" | dpkg --set-selections
