I'll give some general info about using Bayes with
amavisd-new and spamassassin.
Amavisd-new uses a single global bayes file, owned by
the amavisd-new user. No per-user bayes is available
within amavisd-new. This is a result of amavisd-new's
design that only sends mail to spamassassin once, no
matter the number of recipients.
To get per-user bayes, one must use spamassassin (or
spamc/spamd) directly. These programs generally like
a real unix user with a home directory as a place to
store config and bayes info.
You're definitely up the creek. Can't say about the
paddle.
