  This does not directly answer your question, but just FYI your
examples above are invalid; the set of characters which can legally
appear on the LHS of the colon in a mail header is fairly restricted. 
(It is limited to alphanumerics + '-' and '_', if I remember correctly,
but you should check RFC 2822.)
