Right, as spam producers are evolving, so is SA, which has more refined
approaches with every version. But there are many knobs to play with,
so a poorly set newer version of SA can still produce worse results
than finely adjusted older SA with SARE rules. When comparing default
setups, with network tests and bayes enabled and common SARE rules, the
newer version of SA should behave noticeably better that the previous version.

From my point of view the most significant improvement of
SQL-based bayes over dbd-based one is that autoexpiry runs are
an order of magnitude faster than before. With dbd-based bayes
it is not wise to let autoexpiry run, and one has to do them from
cron or manually every once in a while. Forgetting to do so
can lead to successive failures where each auto-expiry attempt
is aborted by a timeout, only to be retried soon afterwards, with
slim chances of being successful. With SQL-based bayes this
all became a non-issue. And regular checks are a trifle faster,
even with SQL server on the same host.

As has been pointed out on the Postfix list recently, once you have
mastered setting up one MTA, putting up the next one is much easier,
despite being of different brand - you have already mastered the concepts.
