I know sa-update coming from SA :). But amavisd needs to access the rules 
updated by sa-update which normally located in 
/var/lib/spamassassin/3.00100*/ directory on Linux platform by default. My 
amavisd-new-2.3.3 still 
access the rules in /usr/share/spamassassin which comes only when you 
upgrade/install SA package.
