Before you install 2.4.2, stop amavisd-new and rename amavisd.conf to
amavisd.conf-20030616p10 or something like that. This will prevent an
error during installation. You should allow it to overwrite files
(like /etc/init.d/amavis) as it finds them. Prepare ahead of time what
settings you will need to change. Most settings can go in the 50_user
file (the last file read, so settings here will usually override
settings in other files). After installation, edit
15-content_filter_mode to enable spam and virus checks (disabled by
default). Ideally you would set up a staging area with all the files
completely configured beforehand which could immediately be copied
over after installation.
