Amavis does not use spamd.  It loads the perl module Mail::SpamAssassin 
directly.  You are free to disable spamd as you see fit.

Yes, you can.  You may need to either increase log_level (I use 
$log_level = 2), or set

$sa_tag_level_deflt  = undef;

in amavisd.conf to add spam info headers into your logs.

You can use the amavis-logwatch utility to see a ranked list of SA tests 
that were hit:
