Der Mailinglist users,

due to people violating the rfc concerning 7bit ascii headers, and
subjects I got regulary complaints concerning the 8bit header check in
amavis.

--- snip ---
Our content checker found
    Non-encoded 8-bit data (char E4 hex): X-Spam-Report:
--- snip ---

I tried google, and searched for a documentation for a clean way to just
turn off the 8-bit checking, but I failed.

As being a typical exim user, I don't really postfix that much, and I
tried to activate "no_header_body_checks" by the following lines:

--- snip ---
pickup fifo n - - 60 1 pickup
  -o content_filter=
  -o receive_override_options=no_header_body_checks
--- snip ---

--- snip ---
amavis unix - - - - 2 smtp
    -o smtp_data_done_timeout=1200
    -o smtp_send_xforward_command=yes

127.0.0.1:10025 inet n - - - - smtpd
    -o content_filter=
    -o local_recipient_maps=
    -o relay_recipient_maps=
    -o smtpd_restriction_classes=
    -o smtpd_client_restrictions=
    -o smtpd_helo_restrictions=
    -o smtpd_sender_restrictions=
    -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions=permit_mynetworks,reject
    -o mynetworks=127.0.0.0/8
    -o strict_rfc821_envelopes=yes
    -o
receive_override_options=no_header_body_checks,no_unknown_recipient_checks
--- snip ---

But I still get still the content checker mails when sending in an broken
mail...

I assume it is really lame to fix that issue, but I couldn't find a real
solution. Most of the pages referred to the "no_header_body_checks"
options. Perhaps I'm just blind and dumb :)

It would be a nice thing if you could give me a hint.

Regards,
Max

I ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab
fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in
from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake! A ter-
rible flood! Locusts! It wasn't my fault, I swear to god! (Jake Blues)
