I am running amavisd-new on a RHEL 4.6 server. The version of amavisd-new is "amavisd-new-2.5.4-1.el4.rf". My concern for this email is when I checked to see the status of amavisd on my email server, I saw the following:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# /etc/init.d/amavisd restart Shutting down Mail Virus Scanner (amavisd): [ OK ] Starting Mail Virus Scanner (amavisd): [ OK ] [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# service amavisd status amavisd (pid 25761 25760 25759 25758 25755) is running... amavis-milter is stopped Why is amavis-milter not running / stopped? Is this bad? It sounds important?I did a Google search and did not find anything so I decided to ask here. I assume you guys would know what is normal behavior and or what to look for. Can anyone assist me in understanding what amavis-milter does and why its not running when I restart amavisd-new on my RHEL / Postfix email server?
