Freebsd ports for amavisd/sa, and related programs are pretty well
maintained and are usually updated he the day, or day after source.

Have you tried installing from ports? Might be some switches for amd64.
Other issue, since amavisd is perl, it can't segv.  Have you checked all
your perl dependencies? (which amavisd ports does).

Lastly, I think the author of amavisd-new uses AMD 64 and 7.0
