> rm /etc/amavis/conf.d/* ; zcat > /usr/share/doc/amavisd-new/examples/amavisd.conf-sample.gz > > /etc/amavis/conf.d/01-amavisd.conf
As a general note: The amavisd.conf-sample is mostly just a disorganized collection of ideas and old config examples that accumulated over the years. This file remained pretty much frozen in time and does not reflect any new features. It is overwhelming for a newcomer to get started with amavisd.conf-sample . The amavisd.conf file (from a distribution) is intended for starting from scratch. If there are additional requirements, just cherry-pick them from amavisd.conf-sample or amavisd.conf-default or release notes or other docs, adding them to amavisd.conf.
