I think I may have found the root cause. /home/mail/virusmails was missing. Perhaps accidentally removed. The tmp directory that was full started on 10/4, appears to have taken this long to have filled and cause the mails to stop entirely. So apparently I don't need to do anything with those files and can delete them? Normally should those subdirectories in /home/amavis/tmp go away on their own? Should I be cleaning them?
