Hi,
we have been running a amavisd-new version 2.3.3 for quite while and the
time came to upgrade our server.

We do not use any kind of quarantine, the messages are only accepted or
denied.

Taking a look at the server we see some big values on the databesa as
follow:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
...
/dev/lvmdsk/disk2 35G 11G 25G 31% /var/amavis
/dev/hdb1 38G 18G 20G 47% /var/lib/mysql

and taking a look at the database
Table Engine Rows Data Lengh Index Lengh
maddr InnoDB 7838475 603 MB 0.9 GB
mailaddr MyISAM 200376 8.2 MB 2.8 MB
msgrcpt InnoDB 24882056 4 GB 2.2 GB
msgs InnoDB 16668683 8 GB 1.4 GB
policy MyISAM 15 1.1 KB 2 KB
quarantine MyISAM 0 0.8 1K B
users MyISAM 6906 521.4 KB 548 KB
wblist MyISAM 1019418 23.4 MB 24.5 MB

The table msgrcp is used for quarantine isn“t it? Since we do not quarantine
is it possible to avoid updating it?
Is there any program/script we can use to cleanup this database?
What data do i have to import to the new instalation if i install a
amavisd-new-2.6.2 ?
Is it bether to forget about all this database history and start a new one
from scrach?
by the way im planning to keep using sendmail since im prety confortable
configuring it and following its log makes more sense than any other mail
server ( i think ).
Any help will be welcome, tanks in advance.
cheers,
Carlos Xavier.
