| Check your settings of @decoders, and see what is logged
| during startup (log level 2), e.g.:

|   amavis[68858]: Found decoder for    .tar  at /bin/cpio (backup, not used)
|   amavis[68858]: Internal decoder for .tar  (backup, not used)
|
| Is it pax, cpio, or Archive::Tar ?
