That is certainly an option, although in my opinion is not a
good practice. It does indeed save maybe 0.5 kB of storage in
the recipient's mailbox and in network traffic, but other than
that it does no good. A signature that is know to fail may not
be worth much, but can still be useful for troubleshooting
and for manually investigating mail origins.
