Hi Mark, I have this value:

$max_servers = 10;
and
smtp-amavis unix -      -       n       -       5  smtp

also I have tried with this:

$enable_db = 0;   (from 1 to 0)
$enable_global_cache = 0; (from 1 to 0)

but also with all changes I have always problem.
I have tried to disable amavis (in main.cf and in master.cf) and in this 
mode the new mails are delivered quickly ! with amavis enable I have 
problems.
